Composition I

This syllabus is from Fall 2020 at Auburn University. The course was online, and was mostly asynchronous with some synchronous class meetings, conferences, and group work. In Comp I, I focus on writing as a process and inquiry as a guiding principle for research.

British Literature I

This syllabus is from Fall 2019 at Auburn University. The course was my first use of a specifications contract grading system. This course traces the rise of Britain before 1789, with readings from Old English texts to late-18th-century novels.

American Literature II

This syllabus is from Fall 2020 at Auburn University. The course was online, and was mostly asynchronous with some synchronous class meetings. This course surveys American literature from 1865 to the present, with an emphasis on works that challenges the traditional American dream.

Composition II

This syllabus is from Spring 2019 at Auburn University. The course was my first use of a "gradeless"system where students assess themselves through reflective practices. In Comp II, I focus on research and critical thinking as well as writing as a process.

British Literature II

This syllabus is from Spring 2019 at Auburn University. The course used a more traditional grading system. This course offers an overview of British literature and culture from the end of the 18th century to the present, through a variety of genres and theory.

World Literature II

This syllabus is from Summer 2019 at Auburn University. The course was online and entirely asynchronous. This course covered the vast and varied literature of non-US and European traditions after1600. The course incorporated Postcolonial studies as the theoretical foundation.
